Major Catch Up

It has been a LONG time since I updated this blog. I am a slacker, I know!

Here is our little Mr Fix It working on the washing machine.

This was one of our favorite outfits from Jack. We never got a picture of him in the outfit so we wanted to make sure we got some of Ty wearing it.

Getting in some beach time before Brian headed out of town.

Jack and his "Daddy Doll". I got him this right before Brian left. He loves to give it big hugs!

Ok, so I think that catches me up for now!

Ty's First Rice Cereal

We finally got around to giving Ty his first bowl of rice cereal this evening. We aren't too sure if he didn't like it or it was just the fact that Daddy wasn't spooning it in fast enough...pretty sure it was the latter.

Our Trip to Kentucky

Over Labor Day weekend we drove up to Kentucky for our annual Helton Family Reunion. We were so looking forward to see Brian's parents, grandparents and aunts, uncles and cousins. The first part of the trip we went to Lexington to Brian's parents house. Jack and Tyler, of course had a wonderful time getting loved on by their Mimi and Papaw. We spent the day going to the park and the Children's Explorium. Next, we headed to Somerset for the reunion. My parents and nephew met us there as well. We had a fabulous time eating, hanging out with family, and did I mention eating! WOW!

Our Smarty Pants

Here is a video of us passing the time on our way home from Kentucky. Awhile back we used to play an on line game with Jack that goes over which animal starts with what letter. Well we haven't played in at least two months. On the drive we started to do them with Jack to kill some time and we were amazed that he actually remembered them. There were a few that we couldn't understand what he was saying and couldn't remember the animal ourselves. We had to go back and look, and sure enough he was right!

Tyler's 4 Month Stats

Tyler went in last week for his 4 month well baby appointment and shots. He is a VERY healthy 17.9lbs and 25 inches long (95th percentile). Dr. Nipper said everything looked great. He thinks that Ty will be crawling before we know it based on how strong his head and neck are. Tyler can now roll over from back to belly and from belly to back. He holds toys in his hands and is starting to pull up his knees and stand on his toes in a crawling position. His favorite pastime at the moment is blowing raspberries. He also had his second set of shots. Poor kid was laughing and cooing at the nurses and then WHAM....three shots to the thigh. He was more shocked than anything else. He had a look like "I was just smiling at you then you had to go and do that to me!". Luckily, we had PLENTY of padding on those thighs and the crying didn't last too long.

Jack also went to the doctor's today. He needed some paperwork filled out for his preschool. They normally just get the information from his 2 year appointment, but since he was there we decided to get his height and weight too. I was anxious to see it since Jack seems to be growing all the time! He measured in at the 36.5 lbs and 40 inches (95th percentile). He is going to be a tall one. Dr. Nipper said he looked great too. Definitely no issues with speech, since Jack talked his ear off. He must have said "Ty is so cute" about 50 times while the doctor was checking Tyler out...which of course I thought was "so cute". :)

Jack Goes to Preschool

Jack's class is the "Shining Stars"

Jack had his first day of preschool today. He was very excited to go. When I dropped him off I started taking a few pictures to send to Brian since he couldn't be there. After a few pictures Jack looked at me and said "bye bye Mommy". Well, I guess there won't be any anxiety, tear filled tantrums for me leaving. I knew he would do great. Jack is such a social kid and loves being around new people. Plus the preschool is at the same church as the Mother's Day Out program he attended this summer so I am sure that helped. When I picked him up he was excited to tell me about the day and he got a "terrific" on his first daily report. I am so proud of my big boy!!
