My mom, sister and I decided we would celebrate my last weekend in town by having a girl's dinner out. We were deciding where to go when I suggested The Melting Pot. Both my mom and sister said they have never been before. WHAT!! Well there is only one way to solve that problem. We left Jack home with Poppy for some quality male bonding. We had such a good time. Cheese and chocolate...does it get any better?
Today we kept Evan out of daycare and took the boys to Jumpin Beans. It is sort of a bouncy castle on steroids. At first they just jumped in the small kids area, then they ventured into the big kids area. This was my excuse to go bounce as well. We had a great time....what a workout!
Sorry, couldn't resist the Old School quote there. Here are a few pictures we took of the boys playing outside in the water tonight.
Apparently Jack got a little camera shy and decided to hide behind some flowers. He must have fast forwarded 18 years from now and saw me showing these pictures to his girlfriend. :)
And yes....that is a new scratch on the nose.........
I figured since my last post was about Jack making a mess I better show how he cleans up too. Here he is helping out with some sweeping. Then he picked up his toys and carried them around in his basket.......... And last he helped out by moving some furniture around. An ottoman in the doorway...interesting concept. He is such a big help!!
Here are a couple pictures of Jack making a mess. Here he is eating a popsicle for the first time and eating some blueberry applesauce at dinner tonight. I am never sure whether to give him a bath or take him out back and hose him down!
My Mom, Jack and I headed out for yet another road trip. Our first stop was to Richmond, VA to visit my best friend Jenny and her family. I have known Jenny since the 9th grade so it was awesome to see her as a Mommy. She has the best kids! They are so smart, cute and well behaved. Her and her husband Eddie are the best parents, I really admire them. We had a wonderful time just hanging out and catching up. We took the kids to lunch and then to play in the fountains at the mall. Camden is such the "little Mom". She just loved helping out with Jack and Jack loved her! I just thought I would add this picture because Jack looks so cute. I told him this better be the only time I catch him in one of these!
I figured I needed to insert this post before you go onto the next pictures as it needs an explanation. Yes folks, we had another "Jack-cident". While we were at Jenny's, Jack got a mosquito bite right above his eye. The next day while walking in her kitchen he bumped the same spot on her table. He only fussed for a second and it didn't look any redder than it had from the bug bite so I didn't worry too much about it. Well, after his bath it swelled up a little bit more and then by the next morning this is what we woke up to. I couldn't believe it! Poor kid....it didn't bother him at all. I am sure it hurt us more to look at it then it hurt him. He is all better now. We expected a black eye out of it but the only thing left is the bug bite.
While visiting Jenny we decided to take all the kids strawberry picking. They had a great farm with a petting zoo, hay rides, and a TON of strawberries. Jack had to sample a few to make sure they were good.
The second part of our trip was to go and visit my good friend Kristin, who I attended pharmacy school with, and her family. The last time I saw them was at my baby shower so it was great for them to finally meet Jack. She has such a great family. Her kids are too cute! Jack and Jacob were instant friends, Jacob really kept Jack laughing. Her parents were away so she let us stay at their place which was right on the beach. It was awesome sitting on their back porch and watching the sun come up. We had a great time. On the way home from Kristin's we decided to take the long way and drive back through the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We stopped at Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills to see where the Wright Brothers took their first flight. It was very interesting, and to know this only took place a little over 100 years ago. I know it sounds a little corny but flying is such an importnant part of our lives and such a passion for Brian it was neat to see where it all started. These first two pictures are of the monumnet that was built on top of the hill where they first took off from and the view from the top of the hill. The last two pictures are of the hangar the Wright brothers built for their first "plane" and the markers where the first three flights landed. The fourth and final flight that day landed about 750 feet further down from the first three.
