Valentine's Day

Yes, I know it is a little late but wanted to get these pictures posted. It has been a week of technology disasters in the Helton house. My camera decided it didn't want to download pictures anymore so I had to go get them put on a disk. God news is I got a new digital camera out of the deal. Here are some late Valentine's Day pictures. They include pics from our playdate and Jack opening his presents from us and Mimi and Papaw.

Pics from our playdate. Look at this kids hair, we had just got it cut. Needless to say we have been back to the barber since then!

Here is Jack opening all his cool prresents. He espescially loved the stickers and book about Brothers from Mimi and Papaw

Baby Ty's 3D/4D Ultrasound

Yesterday Brian and I went and had a 3D/4D ultrasound done of Tyler. It was an awesome set-up. It was a room with a table and ultrasound machine, but then there was a couch and a 42 inch plasma TV for Brian to watch on. We were scheduled for an hour, but the tech kept going for almost another 15-20 minutes or so. (She said it was because Tyler was so cute, I bet she tells everyone that) :)
It was awesome just sitting there and watching Ty in his environment. We got to see him do all kinds of stuff. We watched him eat, play with the umbilical cord, pee, and for some reason he loved licking his hands. (He and Sanford should become fast friends). It was so cute watching his little tongue sticking out. It was also fun to watch Tyler reacting to Brian talking to him. Brian started talking to my belly during the appointment like he does when we go to bed at night. Tyler laid perfectly still while Brian was talking. At one point he was looking right at Brian on the monitor (eyes open). As soon as Brian would stop talking, Tyler would start moving around again.
We think Tyler looks just like Jack did in his 3D ultrasound pictures. He has chubby little cheeks and very full lips. He also has the same little button nose as Jack does. The tech was able to determine that Tyler has a good amount of hair already, we just wonder if he is going to be a red head too!

Here are a couple color pictures we got from the appointment. His poor little face is a little squished.

Profile view

Here is a picture of Tyler pursing his lips. The tech said when they make this face they are ususally peeing. We went to verify..and she was right!

This is a picture of Tyler with his foot in his eye.

Here is the foot that keeps me up all night kicking :)

Here is a picture of Jack's ultrasound picture. Not sure if you can really see the similarities, but after watching Ty for so long yesterday, it was unbelievable to us!

Finished Product

Here are some pictures of the rooms that we redid the floors in. We finally have all the furniture back in place and added the finishing touches with the area rugs. We love, love, love the finished product. We just wish we had done it sooner!

The Dining Room

Brian's Office

The Living Room

The Hallway

In other project news we officially have a backyard! They sodded this week and we have people coming next week to give us estimates on a fence. We are hoping to have that done before Jack's birthday so we can get him a playset. Next weekend I think we will start painting Tyler's room and then we will be officially done! I have to admit I will be a little sad when there is nothing else to decorate.

Our Little Smarty Pants

Brian has been working with Jack on his counting while they are in the bath tub. Jack picked it up pretty quickly. He is probably getting tired of saying it but I just love hearing him do it!
(I switched out the video...the last one was hard to see)

Sleepy Baby

Here is a picture of Jack after a nap last week. He usually sleeps for a good 2-2 1/2 hours every afternoon. This day he woke after only 45 minutes or so and couldn't get himself back to sleep. I was afraid he may try and get out of his crib again so I went ahead and got him up. He was a little cranky and was fussing in the living room while I was getting him a snack in the kitchen. I noticed it had got a little too quiet and I looked in on him to find him at the couch, standing up--asleep! Poor baby! Of course the camera woke him up and he was off playing in a matter of seconds.

Superbowl

Here are a few pictures of Brian and Jack watching the Superbowl together on Sunday night. As you can see Jack was a fan of the food just as much as the game. His favorite part was when he got to throw up his hands and say "Touchdown". He really didn't care who the TD was for, he just loved all the excitement.

GOAL!

Brian and Jack have started a nightly tradition of playing a little soccer before going to bed. Jack has this endless amount of energy that we try and exhaust before we put him down for bed. If I just had a fraction of it for myself. He absolutely loves running around with his Daddy and he actually has some athletic skills (definitely not from me). Watch out Beckham!

Brian has even taught Jack to yell "Goal" when the ball hits the front door.

Brian learns that the new floors are a little slippery and bites it during their play. Jack takes advantage and quickly turns it from a game of soccer to a game of tackle football.

Catch Up

Hi everyone! So sorry it has been so long since the last post. Things have been a little crazy around here. We recently had the flooring in the house replaced and we finally got around to setting the computer back up in the office. I will post some pictures of the house as soon as we get it 100% done.

Another project we have going on is the completion of our backyard, FINALLY! As many of you know we have been dealing with this for over 6 months now. When we bought the house part of the backyard was not cleared. To make a long story short we discovered that part of the land was considered a conservation easement and could not be touched. So we are working with the area that we can touch and have started the process of clearing it, sodding it and hopefully soon enough getting it fenced in for Jack. During the construction the workers left their Bobcat here and Jack couldn't get enough of the "tractor". I took him out back to check it out, that is when he got a little nervous about it. He sat in it long enough to take these pictures then he was done. Of course he wore his hard hat for safety :)
