I took Jack to open gym today. We hadn't been for few weeks just because I didn't know how I was going to be able to handle one very active 2 year old and Tyler, but it went very well. I just held Ty while Jack ran around. As long as Ty can look out and see what is going on, he is a happy boy.
Jack and his buddy Luke
Ty has been doing some working out himself, kicking his legs and lifting his head.
I took Jack to the movies for the first time this week. Our local theater offers a free movie each week during the summer for kids so I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out. They were featuring Kung Fu Panda, which Jack had not seen, and one mention of popcorn and he was all about it. So everything was going pretty smoothly, both kids were content and happy. Well, the popcorn ran out about an hour in and that was it for Jack. And of course as soon as he started Ty chimed in at the same time. So we went from two happy kids to two not so happy kids in a matter of seconds. So that was my cue to get out of there. Like I said...at least it was free! :)
Here are some recent pics of Ty sporting his Aries onsie. Both Jack and Ty are Aries, not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing??
Ty had his first sit in the Bumbo chair. He can't keep his head up all the way quite yet but he loved sitting there at eye level with me as I cooked. I got a few coo's to cheer me on.
This past Sunday we celebrated Father's Day since Brian will not be home on the actual day. The boys got dressed up in special shirts. First we went to IHOP for Jack's favorite, pancakes! Then we hung out for the day and Daddy went with Jack to the store and got Jack a new toy..a Power Wheels Quad (the battery is charging so pics of that soon I am sure). Our neighbors have one and Jack just loved it. Last we went for a great dinner and followed it up with ice cream. It turned out to be a great day for everyone. Daddy got to hang out with his boys, Jack got a new toy and Mom didn't have to cook. :) I hope Brian knows just how lucky we are to have him. I could have never asked for a better father for my babies. We love you!!!
Well we had a pretty busy week last week trying to keep Jack entertained. He has so much energy that it really has become a challenge to busy. It is definitely a little tougher to do things with two kids but I think I am finally getting a hang of it for (for now anyway). It is more logistics than anything else....of course a lot of patience as well! Here is what we have been up to.
Here is Jack playing at the Splash pad on base.
We went and bought annual passes to the Gulfarium. Sea World it is not, but Jack still enjoyed it. The city offered a Kids' Day at the local park near the water. Jack had fun playing, learning to use binoculars and petting alligators and snakes (yuk!). But by far he probably loved drinking lemonade from a big boy cup and eating his first shaved ice the most. I think Mom will reconsider another color besides red next time!
Going to the base pool. Jack loves the water and Ty actually did too.
