Lions and Tigers and Bears OH MY!

What a wonderful Halloween we had! This was the first Halloween Heather and I had been together for since we were kids, so we wanted to do something special. We had a great time spending the day together and trick or treating with the boys. They were all troopers, esp since the weather was much warmer than expected. They were so cute going to the houses and saying "Trick or Treat", then "Thank you for the candy". They caught on pretty quick on the whole candy thing. Jack didn't understand that he couldn't eat each piece as he got them. Poor kid got a couple pieces and then the rest were put away (for us adults to eat) :)

Tyler's 6 Month Portraits

We took Tyler to our favorite Picture People for his 6 month portraits. We decided to try and attempt to get some of the two boys together again since the last attempt was not very successful. Well Jack was a little more cooperative, but not much. We managed to get a few before we gave up on Jack. Ty was my little ham again, just turing on that famous smile of his. The portrait studio was near a window which lead out to the mall. He had a small audience that stopped to watch him.

Our Big Boy

It is hard to believe but Tyler turned 6 months old last week. We took him in for his 6 month well baby appointment and he is wonderful. He weighs 19lbs 4oz and is 26.5 inches long (75th percentile). He is starting to sit on his own unassisted very well. The biggest news for the past week is that he had his first taste of real food. We gave him sweet potatoes and he really seems to enjoy them. Tomorrow we are onto peas....yum!

Ooops, still perfecting the sitting up thing.

Daddy's Plane

Today they sponsored a Spouse's Day on base. It was so nice! They had a static display with a bunch of planes and helicopters (including the mighty Talon II). Jack was in heaven getting to check out all of "daddy's planes". If it flies, it is daddy's plane, according to Jack. Jack got to sit in the pilot seat and push some buttons. I always take for granted what Brian does until I actually get to sit in his plane and realize all he has to know to get one of those things off the ground. Of course, we won't let Brian know that. :) My mom was in town so she got to check it out with us. She actually got to go up in the control tower and check things out from way up there. Plus she got to take a trip into the weather center, which if you you know my Mom she was super excited about. The weather was perfect, beautiful blue skies and not as hot as it has been the past few days. We had a great time!

Jack's First Trip to the Dentist

I took Jack to the dentist today for the first time. I really hadn't planned on taking him for a little while still but he needed some paperwork filled out to go to Japan, so I figure we might as well get it done with. For a long time Jack wasn't much of a fan of getting his teeth brushed, so I was a tad bit nervous. I took him to a pediatric dentist and she was wonderful. The hygienist's were so good at showing him everything they were going to do before they actually did it. They looked around, cleaned and did a fluoride treatment and Jack took it like a champ! His favorite part by far was the water sprayer and "Mr. Thirsty", and of course the stickers afterwards. The dentist said Jack had beautiful teeth and no cavities. YAY!

Under the Big Top

The circus was in town this week. Jack's favorite book right now involves the circus so I thought it would be a great time to go. Jack has been showing his age lately (those terrible two's), so I wasn't sure if I wanted to brave this one on my own. I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. I hate not doing things with the boys because Brian is gone, so I push myself to do things even though I sometimes dread it. Well Jack pleasantly surprised me, he did awesome! I bought us a "VIP" seat just so we would actually have a seat and not have to deal with the bleachers. Well I guess not one else wanted to spend the extra $5 because we were the only ones over there. We were front row so Jack had plenty of room to stand when he started to get a little antsy in his seat. Jack loved everything, especially the motorcycles in the cage and the elephants (pretty much the sole reason Jack wanted to go). At intermission we went and rode the ponies and went outside to get a closer look at the elephants. I figured this was probably a good time to leave. Didn't want to push it. Afterwards we stopped and had some dinner. I had a wonderful evening with my boys, I am so glad I decided to go!!

Ladies Man

Last week I took Jack to one of our local shopping centers. They have a nice little park and splash pad. When we first got there Jack was by himself playing in the water. Shortly after that a elementary school class showed up. Jack got sooo excited! He loves playing with older kids. He was just laughing and chasing them around. One little girl came right over to Jack and started playing with him. He was so cute holding her hand. Then a second little girl came over and wanted to hold his hand too. Next thing you know a third little girl came to play as well. He is my little heartbreaker already!

Here is Ty watching big brother play
