Playing at the Park

Today we took Jack to Crowder Park, which is one of several nice parks by my parents house. Jack is able to play on the playground a little bit more now that he is walking. He is able to climb up the stairs but still hasn't figured out how to get down them. He watches the older kids walk up the slide and can't quite figure out why he can't do it. He definitely gets an "A" for effort. After playing on the playground we went for a walk around the duck pond. Jack loved watching the ducks and turtles. We even got him to say turtle this afternoon.

Walkin' in the Woods

Today we went out and as my nephew says, we went "Walkin' in the woods". My parents backyard is 2 acres. One acre is cleared and fenced in but the other acre is completed wooded. My Dad has been working hard clearing a walking path. It is so pretty back there. As you can see there is plenty of wildlife. Today we ran into a black snake (YUCK!) and some wild strawberries. Jack had a great time walk around and checking out all the bugs, dirt and sticks!

Work Hard....Play Hard

Jack had fun today working and playing outside. He worked a little by helping Poppy mow the lawn. He even has the baby plumbers crack to prove it. Then when he was tired of working he would go and play on his water mat or ride his bike a little. I think he ended up playing a little more than actually working. :)

Asheville

My Mom and I decided to take advantage of the awesome spring we are having and head to Asheville for a couple of days. The Biltmore Estate was having their Festival of Flowers. It is such a beautiful place and the flowers were amazing. We picked a good time to go because I really wanted to see the tulips and they were about on their last legs. Jack had a great time running around all the open areas and gardens. The weather was perfect, cool and sunny. At the end of the day we went by the farm they had there and Jack got to see baby animals. He wasn't too sure about petting them but he did get pretty close.

Rainy Days

Here are a few pictures taken over the past couple days. It has been kinda rainy here so we have been playing inside alot. Luckily Evan and Jack have each other for entertainment.

Jack's 1 Year Pics

We finally went and had Jack's one year pictures done today. We were going to get them done the weekend of his birthday but then he fell and got his stitches. Then came the fall in the bath tub that gave him his black eye. Then he fell off a stair and got a big scratch above his nose. Then we thought we were good to go and at the hair salon yesterday he fell and hit his cheek. Oh well, what can I say, he is clumsy like his mama. We think it adds character. The hardest part of today was picking out which pictures to buy...they were all so cute!!!
