Visiting Kristin and Kitty Hawk

The second part of our trip was to go and visit my good friend Kristin, who I attended pharmacy school with, and her family. The last time I saw them was at my baby shower so it was great for them to finally meet Jack. She has such a great family. Her kids are too cute! Jack and Jacob were instant friends, Jacob really kept Jack laughing. Her parents were away so she let us stay at their place which was right on the beach. It was awesome sitting on their back porch and watching the sun come up. We had a great time.

On the way home from Kristin's we decided to take the long way and drive back through the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We stopped at Kitty Hawk/Kill Devil Hills to see where the Wright Brothers took their first flight. It was very interesting, and to know this only took place a little over 100 years ago. I know it sounds a little corny but flying is such an importnant part of our lives and such a passion for Brian it was neat to see where it all started.
These first two pictures are of the monumnet that was built on top of the hill where they first took off from and the view from the top of the hill.

The last two pictures are of the hangar the Wright brothers built for their first "plane" and the markers where the first three flights landed. The fourth and final flight that day landed about 750 feet further down from the first three.
